The Society has strong links with the Professional Golfing Associations
of both Australia and JapanJAGS is a non-profit organization.
The year of inauguration will coincide with the 30th anniversary of the signing
of the gBasic Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation between Japan and Australiah
It will also be the 110th Anniversary of the establishment
of the Japanese Consulate in Australia.
To celebrate these significant anniversaries,
JAGS will endeavor to arrange suitable golfing events during the periods
of festivity to encourage equal participation
by citizens of both Australia and Japan in the cultural events,
and create the awareness of long lasting friendship of both countries.
The most important undertaking of the JAGS,
during the inaugural year,is to establish and host the Junior Golf Tournament
between selected representatives of Australia and Japan ,
The Tournament will then be held annually with the venue alternating
between Australia and Japan.
In additions to junior golf a link will be established with Amputee golfers.
This will create an unique avenue of learning for disabled children.
JAGS will promote, stage and manage friendly, amateur standing, golf tournaments.
They will encourage the goodwill and fair play between all participants.
The underlying premise in staging these events is sharing cultural heritage
and the love of golf between players fromAustralia and Japan.
There is specific emphasis placed upon the development
of Junior Golfers from both countries and providing opportunity
for players to visit each country to gain a better understanding
of the golfing environment from each country.
The mission of JAGS@is to provide an environment where cultural friendship
and understanding can develop through sporting competition
between Australia and Japan.
JAGS is dedicated to provide a customer focused service in a timely
and pleasing manner, that will foster goodwill with their sponsors and supporters,
and ultimately result in a valuable referral by them
to a larger pool of potential friends of the society.
